COVID Update

12th November 2021

Regrettably, COVID-19’s effect on the major centres in Australia is inhibiting SIES from successfully proceeding in its traditional format in March 2022. The major components of SIES are organised 8-10 months in advance of the meeting. Only now are things slowly returning to normal in Australia and unfortunately this leaves us with insufficient time to orchestrate the event. Very sadly we must postpone SIES to 2023. At that point, the symposium will return to its former venue, the Hilton Sydney on the 8th, 9th & 10th March 2023.

Due to the tremendous support from our valued sponsors, this year we have been very pleased to be providing the SIES community with regular virtual educational offerings – SIES Series. We plan to continue the SIES Series format throughout 2022, offering you more dissemination of high-quality GI endoscopy from the Westmead endoscopy team and international guest speakers, addressing the critical topics at the cutting edge of endoscopic practice.

I thank you for your understanding and we look forward to SIES 2023, when vaccination levels across Australia (and internationally) will allow us all to return to the normality of our much loved face-to-face and social symposium.
