Electrosurgery in Endoscopy 2021
Endoscopic tissue resection is one of the most frequent therapeutic interventions undertaken by any Gastroenterologist or Surgical endoscopist. This is most commonly hot or cold colonic polypectomy but also includes a vast array of electrosurgically based interventions throughout the entire GI tract for the treatment of pre-malignant and early invasive disease. Electosurgical techniques are also used for tissue division in procedures as diverse as POEM or Biliary Sphincterotomy.
In 2021, along with CO2 insufflation and enhanced endoscopic imaging, modern electrosurgery is one of the great endoscopic enablers. The time of definitive endoscopic treatment for a wide variety of neoplastic and functional gastrointestinal disorders is now upon us. Achalasia and other spastic oesophageal motility disorders, submucosal tumors and early cancer at all GI sites can now be effectively treated without recourse to surgery, with little or no morbidity and limited 1 or 2 night hospital stay.
This webinar will cover all of these aspects and more. We are fortunate to have Dr Torsten, Beyna from Dusseldorf joined us for this important meeting.
